Dear Highland Games Athlete:
The 21st Annual Highland Festival, Garrett
County, MD will be held Saturday, June 7, 2008, at the
Garrett County Fairgrounds on Route 219 in McHenry (Deep
Creek Lake), Maryland. I would like to take this opportunity
to invite you to participate in the Highland Games Athletic
Competitions.
Mr. David McKenzie, former athlete and
coordinator of many highland games, will again direct
the Amateur Athletic Games of the Festival. All athletic
games will be conducted according to the rules set forth
by the North American Scottish Games Association. Medals
will be awarded to the first through third place winners
in each of the events.
This year, all registrations for this competition
will be done through the MASA (Mid-Atlantic Scottish Athletes)
website at:
www.highlandgames.net/masa/masasched.php
There is no registration fee for this
competition. Tickets for you and any guests with you may
be purchased at the gate on the day of the Festival or
in advance on-line here on the McHenry Highland Festival
website.
