McHenry Highland Festival

The McHenry Highland Festival is celebrating its 21st year!
We need your help to make the celebration great!

The first three days of June will be filled with Celtic music, dancing, games, food, golf and more. Be certain to mark your calendar for June 6 through 8 so that you can participate in the heritage of the Garrett Highlands of Mountain Maryland and become "Celtic-for-a-weekend!"

In previous years, the generosity of the community towards The McHenry Highland Festival has made it possible for us to continue this tradition. This year we are really counting on you. We recognize that the needs are many and the opportunities for giving seem to increase daily. But please consider the importance of helping to preserve the historical foundations and traditions brought to this area of the Appalachian Mountains by Celtic pioneers. Our all-volunteer Board of Directors have been working diligently to bring you an entertaining line-up of events. This year's festival includes:

Friday, June 6
St Andrews at Wisp Golf Tournament
Concert Starring Internationally Acclaimed Bonnie Rideout at The Wisp

Saturday, June 7
All Day Highland Festival at the McHenry Fairgrounds including music by Bonnie Rideout, Coyote Run and Shanty Irish

Sunday, June 8
The Kirkin’ o' the Tartans at St. Johns Episcopal Church, Mt. Lake Park

All of the weekend's events are well worth experiencing if only for the music. The events are designed to educate as well as entertain residents and visitors to Garrett County of all age groups by striving to foster a better understanding and appreciation of the important contributions the Celts have made to our area. Over the last few years the Festival has grown significantly and our ancillary events have gained credibility. We believe that the festival can continue to expand its appeal and make this weekend a must for both visitors and residents alike. In order to continually raise the quality of the festival experience for all, we must raise as much or more from tax-exempt donations as we have in previous years. That is why we are asking you to support us this year, by sending a check payable to the McHenry Highland Festival to the address below.

Festival donors of $100 will receive 2 free tickets to Saturday's festival and donors of $250 or more will receive 4 free tickets.

We are also very happy also to receive in kind gifts for use as golf prizes or silent auction items. These help greatly in supporting our ancillary events. We will be following up with you in the next few weeks, and will be happy to pick up your donations.
